Hi Zinta,

I have moved this thread to our legal section so that someone with this kind of legal experience can help you with your question. As for your question, I wouldn't think that would be illegal. I think it would depend on if the jewelry design was patented or certain trademarks were engraved into the jewelry. Don't take this as legal advice, you would have to get a response from someone with more legal experience than me. I hope this helps.

Thank you and welcome to our forums.
Best Regards

Hi Zinta,
Jewelry can either have a design registered or a trade-mark registered. If so, you cannot contravene either of these.
Antique jewelry, say over 200 years old, is unlikely to have either a trade-mark or a design registered.
The only safe course of action is to consult a patent attorney/lawyer in the jurisdiction in which you operate. The Patents Office may have some relevant information for you.

Beside the legal issues which has to be clarified first this idea might involve some serious investment at the very beginning I think. I hope you have enough financial background to start up your business or at least a loving family who wouldn't mind to you. Starting a business and becoming your own boss is always exciting and thrilling. I wish you the best of luck.
