Actually what you need is a health insurance policy now, if you do not already have one from your employer, if you work for someone. Since you are healthy, now is the time to get it before you have diabetes. If you are currently uninsured and subsequently get diabetes before having health ins. in place, it is considered a pre-existing condition and you will be denied coverage for diabetes. So get coverage now while you are well!

You may be looking for medical insurance, rather than life insurance. Medical insurance will be able to cover your condition, if you happen to be diagnosed diabetic later on life.

If you’re looking for life insurance, there are several life insurance companies which look upon diabetes and a family history of diabetes more favorably. You would need to shop around for such companies. Online insurance agencies may be able to help you search for these.

I think medical insurance will be a suitable option for you. You can also apply for any state programs that may assist you. You can search online for affordable health insurance coverage, and contact your state representative. Also contact your local human resources office to find out what programs are available in your state.

Many insurance companies will cover a diabetic. It just costs more and there are waiting periods of 1 to 2 years. Seek to get some now, because the older you gets, the harder it will be.
