Not surprisingly, Kerala recorded a surge in visitor exports by 11 percent when the national figures suffered a decline of 4.8 percent as a result of 9/11 events. Listed among the top 10 must-see destinations in world, Kerala is also fast emerging as an IT hotspot. A fact substantiated by two IT Parks that provide the global IT majors, with all the facilities they could dream of. Though a late starter in the IT field, its unique advantages will soon help it to become a leader in the world of information technology and give it a commanding position in the competitive market place.
With better standards of living and growing trends for independent settlement that promotes the concept of a nuclear family the growth rate of land value has also been spiraling over the past few years despite a temporary recession. This rising trend is no doubts helping builders in Kerala to come up with new and attractive projects in large numbers. Kerala stands in an advantageous position to achieve growth today. This is further enhanced by Kerala's progressive economy which is mainly agro based. Extensive rubber plantations, agricultural cash crops, spices, cashew and coffee are valuable foreign exchange earners. The coir products and handicrafts are well received both in India and abroad. These multiple factors have given an impetus to to attract more people to invest in property in the state.
