US equities at Wall Street edged up higher
US equities at Wall Street edged up higher as a falling dollar, partly driven by expectations of further stimulus by the Federal Reserve, prompted investors to buy riskier assets. Equities and the dollar have formed an inverse relationship, so as the dollar drops, equities often advance. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 31.49 points to 11,164.05. The Standard &Poor's 500 Index added 2.54 points to 1,185.62. The Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 11.46 points to 2,490.85.
