To provide Zi shareholders additional time to consider the merits of the offer, Nuance Communications recently announced it is extending its offer to purchase all of the outstanding common shares of Zi Corp. for 40 cents per share in cash to 5 p.m. (Calgary time) January 30, 2009, previously scheduled to expire at 5 p.m. (Calgary time) January 16, 2009. As of the close of business January 15, 2009, approximately 563,560 common shares of Zi were validly tendered and not withdrawn pursuant to the tender offer."
