20 yr old entrepreneur looking from experienced advice here.
hey guys i am new to this forum and was hoping to get some advice from some of the experienced and wise posters here.
ill make it short and sweet. I am 20 yrs old, graduating with my BS in marketing next year. Anyways, me and my dad opened a business last year selling Italian beefs out of a hot dog cart in the down town area of my city (Boise Id) and it has been quite successful. I have been looking at ways to become wealthy in the long run and am beginning to become very frustrated. I don't expect it to be easy, but all of the good old ways seem to be dead ends nowadays. everywhere I go I hear nothing but bad things. so let me get this straight. Real estate is out Flipping houses is out stocks, bonds, and CDs are out Renting out a duplex is out Owning a restaurant or pretty much any small business is out ( all I read is that the average small business owner makes almost nothing and devotes their life to their job) so where am i to turn when thinking about my future and where I should out the money I have saved whether it be now or later. I know im young, but im an entrepreneur and im not looking to wait around forever to start thinking about wise places to put my money for maximum profit. So let me get this straight. The only way to make money is by having a primary career offering a handsome salary? which the job market is so horrible, even that is very very hard to find. Im feeling very lost and without a mentor (trust me im looking) |

I'm sure you have a lot to offer. It will really take some time for a business to take off. You said it yourself, you're young. Take it slow and make a market research what you think is popular and worth investing in. Study your target market, area, surveys help as well. If you're eager to earn additional income for the mean time, work at and maybe you'll also learn about online marketing and you could target the internet to build your business. The internet has been a good source of ideas.
