Send a certified mail, return receipt letter with your account information, and ask that your account be closed. Send a copy of your driver's license.

You probably need to send this to a different address than were you send payments. Usually the different address is listed on your statements.

Keep a copy of the letter you sent along with the return receipt.

Call and tell them you are cancelling your account or call you bank of credit card company and tell them you are not authorizing that company to take any money from you account.

What you need to do is to simply cut up the card - even if you dont use it you can still increase your credit rating - which is always a good thing :)

Hi,

To begin the process of closing the credit card account, gather and write down the customer service number and the mailing address you will need. Write a short cancellation letter/email to the card issuer, directed to the name provided and request written should be confirmation of the account's closure.

Thanks
